Police Officer Resigns Following Lewd Conduct Conviction

Sean Mace, 37, exposed his genitals to two women inside a Fremont home in February, according to media reports.

A six-year veteran of the Union City police force resigned Friday, two weeks after being convicted of one count of misdemeanor lewd conduct in public, according to media reports.

The conviction stemmed from a Feb. 11 incident when two women accused 37-year-old officer Sean Mace of exposing himself inside of a Fremont home, according to the Fremont Argus.

Mace, a Solano County resident who also worked as a fitness consultant, was invited to the home to discuss fitness with two women, ages 41 and 52. At some point during the meeting, Mace exposed his genitals, the Argus reports. He was asked to leave and the women later reported the incident to Fremont police.
