Share Your Voice on Union City Patch—Create Your Own Blog Here!
Whether you're an experienced blogger looking for new readers, or an aspiring writer who wants to get published, Patch wants to give you a place of your own right here.

Let's try this again.
A couple weeks ago, we ran a , hoping to get some more local voices on our site. As we've said from the beginning, Patch is for you—it's about your community, the people in it, and everything that happens here. And that's why we need to hear from you.
This week, we heard some very strong opinions regarding Measure B, an emergency funding parcel tax for the local school district. It's a contentious issue for parents, students, taxpayers—everyone. Residents have aired out their grievances, students have shared their concerns.

Frankly, we need more of that discussion, and not just after the fact of the matter. That's why we want you to have your own blogging space here.
With that said, it doesn't need to be a blog just for your opinions and political musings (though it can be if you want it). Post photos/videos from your travels around the Bay Area, rant and rave about your favorite restaurants, tell us what's going on at your school, make a "Top 10" list. Do whatever you like—it's your space.

We want as many different voices to represent our diverse community, too. Admittedly, we don't represent everyone as often or as best as we can. Now's your chance to speak up (I'm looking at you, teenagers).

Are you sassy, smart, funny and opinionated? Do your friends always admire you for your strong convictions or your devotion to the causes close to your heart?
Then Union City Patch wants to give you your very own blog. As we've always said, this site will only grow with your participation. And now we're offering you a unique opportunity to join the online conversation about your hometown.
We're looking for local people to blog about subjects and issues close to the community.
If you like to write and are passionate about something in Union City, then let us know. Whether you're interested in religion, family, food, schools, politics, business, social issues, shopping or just daily life around town, consider sharing what's on your mind on Patch!
The blog platform will be yours and yours only. Although the editor will approve posts before they appear, we're not going to mess with your stuff. We want this to be your platform. As long as it's legal and readable, you've got free rein.
This also means Patch bloggers are not paid. Much like our partner The Huffington Post has done, Patch is providing local bloggers an online platform to have their words seen by a larger audience. Union City Patch is part of the fastest growing local news and information company in the country!
And, since it's your blog, there are no strings attached. Write one blog or 100. Write once a week or every day. It's totally up to you.
Union City Patch will not own the blog content, meaning that if you already have a blog, you can re-post your work here. And if you're new to blogging, we'll show you how to do it and host your pieces on our site.
