This Week: Computer Literacy Class, Girl Scouts Fundraiser, NYE Events
Here's what's going down in and around Union City this week

Here are five things coming up this week that you should know about:
- Students aren't the only ones on break this week. Most city offices will remain closed this week and reopen on Jan. 3. For more information, visit www.unioncity.org or call 510-471-3232.
- Don't fear the digital divide. At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the Union City Library from teen tutors. Sign up at the information desk and you will be paired with a youth volunteer.
- Thursday, Dec. 29 is the , which will be held Jan. 13 at City Beach in Fremont. The troop serves the Tri-Cities. Participants don't need to be girl scouts members, either. Girls in grade 6 or higher are invited to attend. Bring sleeping bags and get ready for a night of fun activities, including rock climbing and court games.
- Pay off your library fines this Saturday at the Union City Library. for each item, good up to $10 per library card. All items will go to needy families in Alameda County.
- Union City knows how to party! This New Year's Eve, at the PRUMA Center, located at 616 E Street. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., with music provided by Stanley Robley y Los Jibaros Modernos.
