See what's happening in and around Union City this week.

Heads up! Here are five things going on this week that you should know about:
- The League of Volunteers and Viola Blythe Community Services Center are collecting donations for their annual toy drives. Find out where you can drop off items in the Union City here.
- Meditate at the the Wat Buddhanusorn Thai Temple Tuesday at 7 p.m. with American Buddhist monk Ajahn Guna. Guests will be able to relax during the meditation and also ask questions to learn more about Buddhism. The temple is located at 36054 Niles Blvd. in Fremont.
- Domestic violence affects more people than you think. If you're a victim, you don't have to live in fear — Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments is here to help. Drop in at SAVE's free support groups Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. and Fridays from 9:15 to 11 a.m. in Fremont. SAVE's meetings, held on the fourth floor of 1900 Mowry Ave., provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for victims to talk about their experiences and heal. The groups are moderated by trained counselors who provide experience. The meetings are open to women currently experience abuse as well as those who have experienced it in the past.
- Think your kid might be the next baseball all-star? Register your little slugger for the Union City National Little League. A registration event will be held this Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mountain Mike’s Pizza, located at 32170 Dyer St. in Union Landing. Registration fees for boys and girls 4 to 18 years old are $125, plus $60 for each additional sibling. Visit the UCNLL website for registration and medical release forms. Forms will also be available on-site Thursday.
- You don't need to go far to see great holiday displays. As many locals know, Queen Anne Court lights up with Christmas cheer every year. This year's display goes up Friday night. The display is also a fundraiser for the Alameda County Food Bank. Drop by between 6 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. between Friday, Dec. 14 and Dec. 22 to check out the display. Make sure to bring nonperishable food items or a monetary donation! To see photos from last year's decorations, click here.
