Union City Fire Displaces 3 People

The Red Cross is assisting two adults and one child.

UNION CITY, CA — Three people, including a child, were displaced Monday afternoon by a fire in a Union City apartment, fire officials said.

The fire was reported shortly after 1 p.m. at a two-story apartment building in the 33000 block of 7th Street in Union City.

Fire crews saw smoke and flames coming from the building when they arrived, Alameda County Fire Department spokesperson Cheryl Hurd said.

They quickly put out a couch fire, according to Hurd. No injuries were reported.

Two adults and a child are being assisted by the Red Cross.
