Potential homeowners in Alameda County can attend a workshop and receive a HUD certificate

In order to receive a HUD certificate tenants must attend both the workshop and counseling session.

Union City, CA — Union City Housing And Community Development has announced a free Homebuyer Education Workshop Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The event, conducted by Eden Council for Hope and Opportunity, or ECHO, Housing, is a workshop for renters living in Alameda, Contra Costa and Monterey Counties or working in Pleasanton, according to a new release issued by Union City Housing and Community Development.

“This workshop will help you determine if you are ready for homeownership, how to select a lender and shop for a home, all about closing costs and how to be a successful homeowner,” ECHO Housing said.

In order to receive a Housing and Urban Development, or HUD, certificate tenants must attend the workshop and counseling session.

Deadline to register to attend is Wednesday, Sept. 21, the news release said.

ECHO Housing is a HUD-Approved Housing Counseling Agency founded in 1964 and incorporated in 1965 by community volunteers dedicated to equal housing opportunities and the prevention and elimination of homelessness, ECHO Housing was established as a fair housing agency.
