Union City Nomination Period for November 2024 Municipal Election Opens
The deadline to submit paperwork is Friday, August 9, 2024.

UNION CITY, CA — The City of Union City is pleased to announce the opening of the nomination period for the upcoming General Municipal Election, scheduled for November 5, 2024. This election cycle presents an exciting opportunity for Union City residents to participate in the democratic process by running for public office and shaping the future of our community.
Starting Monday, July 15, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., the City Clerk's office will begin issuing nomination papers to prospective candidates. This cycle's positions up for election include an at-large Mayor and a Council Member representing District 1. The nomination period will remain open until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024. If an incumbent does not file for re-election, the nomination period for that office will be extended to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

Prospective candidates must schedule an appointment with the City Clerk's office to obtain and file their nomination papers. Appointments can be made through the City Clerk 2024 Election Page at www.unioncity.org/MunicipalElection. Early filing is encouraged to ensure all documentation is complete and signatures are validated.
