According to Graham, the accident took place six miles south of the Hayward Amtrak station and the train may not have been at full speed. Though Graham did not know the exact speed of the train, she said the authorized maximum speed limit for a train in that area is 35 miles per hour.
The train was heading from Sacramento to San Jose and was carrying 190 passengers. None suffered any injuries, Graham said.
