Walmart Unveils Direct Home Delivery Service For Union City

Bay Area residents can now order online and receive groceries straight to their door.

When faced with the task of loading up your family car with the kids and sitting in traffic for a stressful day of grocery shopping, it may come as no surprise that many families dream of an easier way.

Now there’s another choice.

Bay Area residents are among the first in the country to take part in Patch partner Walmart’s direct home delivery program.

Here’s how it works:

  • Customers visit Walmart Grocery and enter zip code. Customers who are eligible will be prompted to sign in or create their Walmart online grocery account.
  • Residents can now have their groceries delivered straight to their door, sourced directly from local Walmart stores.
  • There is no price markup, so shoppers enjoy the same prices as in Walmart stores.
  • Customers may select two-hour or four-hour delivery slots as well as same-day delivery for orders placed by 10 a.m.
  • All home delivery orders arrive in specially built Walmart Grocery trucks equipped with separate frozen, refrigerated, and ambient compartments.
  • If the price of an item decreases in store between the time an order is placed to when it is delivered/ picked up, customers will pay the lesser amount.
  • Any returns can be handled by delivery drivers or in a Walmart store.
