Vallejo police make arrest concerning Sunday fatal traffic collision (timesheraldonline.com) — Vallejo police report that a man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter after a pedestrian was fatally struck early Sunday on Sonoma Boulevard near Meadows Drive, the city’s 13th traffic death this year. Investigators say impairment may have been a factor, and they’re asking anyone who saw the crash or has information to contact the Traffic Division.

December 18 Vallejo/Vacaville A/E Source: Activities (thereporter.com) — A packed lineup of Vallejo holiday events is coming up, from quilt exhibits and concerts at the Vallejo Naval and Historical Museum and Empress Theatre to E-40’s toy drive, a community Christmas celebration, and Children’s Wonderland lights. Residents can also enjoy markets, Santa breakfasts and teas, and performances in nearby Benicia and Vacaville.

Zizian suspect seeks competency hearing (thereporter.com) — A high-profile Vallejo murder case tied to the extremist Zizian group is on hold while a judge orders a mental competency evaluation for defendant Suri Dao, with key hearings set in Vallejo’s Justice Building. Co-defendant Alexander Leatham and a third alleged participant, Maximilian Snyder, also face serious charges connected to attacks on Vallejo landlord Curtis Lind and fellow Zizian member Emma Borhanian.

Federal Review Puts $700 Million Vallejo Tribal Casino Plan Back In Limbo (canyon-news.com) — A long-debated $700 million tribal casino proposed just outside Vallejo is back in limbo after federal officials said earlier gaming approval may have relied on a legal error. Work delayed on Benicia, Carquinez bridges (timesheraldonline.com) — If you commute from Vallejo across the Carquinez or Benicia bridges, expect continued disruptions as Caltrans extends inspections and repairs because of steel fabrication delays. Carquinez Bridge lane and ramp closures will stretch into February, while Benicia Bridge work continues mostly on the bike path, with no lane closures currently scheduled.
