An adult film actor announced Tuesday he tested positive for HIV, making him the second local porn performer to be diagnosed with the virus in the past two weeks.
Rod Daily, 32, made the announcement on his Twitter page, saying he had apparently been infected during the past month.

"I'm blessed for the fact that I caught it so early," Daily wrote. "... My antibodies just showed up on a test this week, which is scary because they didn't a week ago."
He added, "When something like this happens you just have to accept it. I'm not down, I'm not out. Had to pinch myself a few times no doubt."

The porn-industry media outlet AVN reported that Daily has been romantically linked to 28-year-old porn actress Cameron Bay, who confirmed that she had tested positive for HIV about two weeks ago, leading to a temporary shutdown of porn production in the San Fernando Valley.
According to AVN, Bay said on a recent radio appearance that she had also contracted the virus within the past month.
News of the second HIV case brought more condemnation of the porn industry's testing standards from Assemblyman Isadore Hall, D-Los Angeles, who said the latest case "should send a chilling message to the public and the adult film industry."
"The adult film industry can no longer sit on the sidelines while actors continue to be exposed to injury, harm and potentially death," Hall said. "The adult film industry should immediately reinstate its filming moratorium that it recklessly lifted after only six days."
Bay's diagnosis prompted the Los Angeles-based AIDS Healthcare Foundation to file a workplace-safety complaint with Cal-OSHA against the production company Kink Studios.
