Bomb Squad Called to Investigate Suspicious Package in Mar Vista

Streets were shut down after a red suitcase was left unattended near a light post.

Venice Boulevard and Wade Street in Mar Vista were shut down briefly when police were called to investigate a suspicious package at approximately 4 p.m. Friday

Helicopters circled overhead as police arrived on the scene to find a red suitcase that had been left unattended near a light post. However, no evacuations were ordered.

Officer Cleon Joseph of the Los Angeles Police Department said, “The bomb squad did respond but no threats were associated with the package.”
