DUI Checkpoints Planned For The Westside
The Los Angeles Police Department has planned a series of DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols across Los Angeles.
LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Police Department will be out in force this weekend with a blitz of DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols to catch intoxicated drivers.
In an effort to save lives and curb intoxicated driving, the LAPD Is publicizing its campaign to catch drunken drivers. The DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes and arrests, according to the LAPD.
Drivers charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license, according to the LAPD.

- DUI Saturation Patrol from 5 PM to 1 AM in Central Area
- DUI Saturation Patrol from 9 PM to 3 AM in Wilshire Area
- DUI Checkpoint from 6 PM to 11 PM at Western Avenue and Wilshire Boulevard
- DUI Checkpoint from 6 PM to 11 PM at La Brea Avenue and Obama Boulevard
Saturday, January 28
- DUI Saturation Patrol from 6 PM to 2 AM in South Bureau
- DUI Checkpoint from 6 PM to 11 PM at Pico Boulevard and Union Avenue
- DUI Checkpoint from 6 PM to 11 PM at Sunset Boulevard and Orange Grove Avenue
