Firefighter Rescued From Burning Home In Venice
A firefighter became injured while battling a blaze at a two-story home in Venice after the attic became engulfed in flames.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A Los Angeles firefighter is recovering this week after being trapped and lifted from a burning home in Venice over the weekend.
Crews used a litter basket to lift him to safety when he became injured while battling a blaze at a two-story vacant home at 2214 S. Glyndon Avenue Saturday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
"One male firefighter sustained a non-life threatening injury and was unable to descend the ladder from the roof," said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart. "A litter basket operation was conducted to bring him down and he was transported to the hospital."
