The Friends of Venice Library Needs YOUR ITEMS!
The Friends of Venice Library is seeking donations of books, DVD/CDs, games, puzzles, but only materials in good to great condition.

The Venice Library of the LAPL, as with most branches, needs the support of a Friends group in order to sustain it. Ideally, each branch has a Friends group that is there to boost programs, provide additional materials, and fill the gap between budget and reality.
Three times a year we have a Friends of Venice Library book sale to raise the funds that enable us to continue financially supporting the programs, events and activities at the Venice Branch. Some of the many programs, among others, that we support are: book clubs, yoga, Pilates, chess, painting, ukulele classes, line dancing, gardening. We also have arts & crafts, storytime, an anime/manga club and teen council.
We used to get tons of excellent quality book donations, but as e-books have increased in popularity, donations have dwindled. We are asking the public for help. Our book sales can only raise enough funds when we have the quality and quantity of materials to sell.

When you are ready to donate your items, send us an email at friendsofvenicelibrary@gmail.com to setup an appointment (usually a Wednesday or Friday). The branch cannot accept walk-in donations and items should not be left in the library's book drops.

Ideally, we'd like everyone to become a MEMBER of the Friends of Venice Library. Robust membership allows us to better plan our annual fiscal support of the Venice Branch. Starting at only $20/year, it's an easy way to help us pay for the programs, events and activities at the library. How much would you have to pay individually for a yoga or Pilates class at a private studio or club?
Exactly. Join the Friends of the Venice Library - Become a Member of the Friends' Group.
