Why Go: Have fun, see a great movie and support Grand View school. What more could you want? Entrance is free pizza, juice, nachos, water and popcorn will all be on sale for $1 each. Monies raised go to support the school.

Where/When: 9300 Culver Blvd., Culver City.  Sat. Oct. 8 and Sun. Oct. 9, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Why Go: Come see downtown Culver City turned into a free arcade. Play street games, try out the new video games or explore the indoor/outdoor village. Indiecade will have lots of family-focused activities, give-aways, specials at local restaurants and stores.

Where/When: , 12958 W Washington Blvd. Sat. Oct. 8, 1 p.m.

Why Go: Recycle your old clothes and find some new ones, and bring out your inner crafter. Bring at least one bag of your unwanted kids clothing and a small donation, add it to the huge pile and then dive in and find new clothes. Once you've grabbed the items you want, join a workshop and learn to make modifications or totally transform your finds. Each swap features a variety of workshops by local crafters who are there to share their sewing and modification secrets with you. All the materials you need to sew, embroider, bead, fix, repair, knit etc, are suppled.

Why Go: Take part in a Halloween costume swap and witness a trashion show! Join the Mar Vista Community Council and the Los Angeles Costume Swap for the GREEN-o-ween and Trashion Show event. After the show there will be lots of family-friendly activities.
