A march to protest laws that don't allow women to go topless is set for 3 p.m. Sunday in Venice. People who believe men and women should be equally allowed to go topless will gather at Navy Street and Ocean Front Walk at 2:30 p.m.
“Gender topless discrimination still abounds worldwide,” stated Nadine Gary, president of GoTopless, a women’s organization fighting for equal topless rights on the basis of gender equality under the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. “Women must have the same legal right to go without a top that men do!”
The Gotopless.org movement is holding its 6th annual topless civil rights demonstrations Sunday and will stage demonstrations in about 30 U.S. cities, Gary said.
