Slain Stabbing Victim Found In Venice Pathway

A man was found laying on a dirt path between two homes in Venice with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds, LAPD said.

VENICE, CA — The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a possible homicide in Venice, authorities announced Tuesday morning.

According to LAPD spokesperson Warren Moore, officers received a call at about 6 a.m. on Tuesday about a man lying on the ground on a dirt path between two homes in the 600 block of Washington Boulevard.

Moore said people passing by the area saw the man and called authorities. When officers and paramedics arrived, they found the man suffering from what looked like multiple stab wounds. Despite attempts to save the man's life, he was pronounced dead at the scene, Moore said.

The victim was described as a white man in his 40s.

Officers have not yet located a suspect, according to Moore, but the investigation is still ongoing. Officers warned the community that traffic between Palawan Way and Mildred Avenue would be impacted for several hours.
