Police Seek Stabber In LA Freeway Road Rage Attack

LOS ANGELES, CA — Authorities Friday sought public help to find a motorist involved in a road rage attack on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in South Los Angeles that left another driver hospitalized with stab wounds.

The attack occurred about 3 p.m. Wednesday on the eastbound 105 Freeway near Central Avenue.

The victim, a 33-year-old Whittier man, was driving a black 2011 Toyota Camry about 20 mph in heavy traffic in the No. 4 lane, and the suspect was following behind him in a red newer-model Ford Mustang with "Norm Reeves" paper plates and dark tinted windows, the California Highway Patrol reported.

"They were observed engaging in a road rage incident," according to a CHP statement, which said the suspect drove the Mustang onto the right shoulder of the freeway, alongside the Camry driver.

The suspect then sideswiped the Camry, apparently intentionally, and both cars stopped on the shoulder. That's when the suspect got out of the Mustang, stabbed the victim three times, and drove off, according to the CHP.

The victim, whose name was withheld, was hospitalized with "moderate" injuries, the CHP reported.

The suspect was described as an Hispanic man in his mid-20s, 5-foot-9, with short hair, a cropped beard and an athletic build. A woman who appeared to be in her 20s was riding in the Mustang with him.
