Police Seek Venice Fishing Pier Sexual Assault, Robbery Suspect
Los Angeles police are asking the public's help for information about a suspect who sexually assaulted a woman near the Venice Fishing Pier.
VENICE, CA — Los Angeles police were asking the public's help Wednesday for information following an assault that left a woman severely injured near the Venice Fishing Pier last week.
A woman was found unconscious, naked from the waist down, and suffering from severe head trauma near Ocean Front Walk and Anchorage Street about 6:45 a.m., according to an LAPD news release.
She was taken to a hospital. Her injuries were serious and required surgery, police told Patch.

The suspect also stole the woman's car, along with her purse with her wallet and cellphone, according to investigators.
"The victim's wallet, purse, iPhone, and vehicle have not been located," police said. No suspect was seen.

The stolen vehicle was described as a 2011 Ford Escape gray 4-door with the license plate #AZ CPL5138.
Anyone with information about the incident or stolen vehicle was asked to contact the police.
