Suspect Slashed Tires, Smashed A Car Window In Venice, Police Say
Investigators are asking the public for any information about a series of damaged vehicles in the heart of Venice. A suspect is in custody.

VENICE, CA — Police are asking the public's help after arresting a 48-year-old man suspected of slashing car tires, breaking windows and causing thousands of dollars in damage to multiple vehicles in Venice, authorities said Tuesday.
A series of vandalisms were reported over the weekend of August 20 through August 22 in the Oakwood neighborhood, near the areas of Lincoln Boulevard and Rose Avenue, Flower Avenue and Vernon Avenue, according to detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Division.
"The suspect terrorized the community by using a folding knife to slash the tires of multiple parked vehicles," police said. "The suspect also threw a brick at a window causing it to shatter."

He fled the area on a bicycle, police said.
Detectives conducted an investigation, speaking to witnesses and victims.

"Early estimates place the value of the damage caused by the suspect in the thousands of dollars," police said.
The suspect was identified as Roland Morrow, 48, a parolee at-large, police said. He was located and taken into custody without incident Monday, police said.
Morrow was booked on suspicion of vandalism. No bail was set due to an unrelated parole-related warrant, police said.
