Venice-Mar Vista Gas Prices Stabilize After Continuous Increases
The price of gas in Venice and Mar Vista finally plateaued after weeks of continual increases, setting back-to-back record highs.
VENICE-MAR VISTA, CA — Gas prices in Venice and Mar Vista finally stabilized at a record high Friday after continuous increases for 15 of the last 16 days.
The average price for a gallon of gas in Los Angeles County on Friday was $4.71, the same as Thursday’s average, according to AAA. This is still a steep increase from just a month ago, when the average was $4.56.
The stable price was a welcome relief for Venice and Mar Vista residents, even though it’s still a record high for the county. The previous record was set Wednesday at $4.705 and was topped again Thursday.

The prices are an even bigger issue considering how much Los Angeles locals will travel during the holidays; KTLA 5 reported that the majority of long-distance traveling Angelinos will journey by car this weekend.

The average price of gas Friday for California was $4.71, far higher than the national average of $3.39, according to AAA.
