VENICE, CA — Life Rolls On, the organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with various disabilities, will host a special event this weekend at the Venice Skate Park.

The inspiring "they will skate again" event Saturday happens from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Venice Skate Park. It's part of the group's "Get on Board" Tour.

"Bring a helmet, knee and elbow pads, and of course, your fastest wheels," organizers said on the website. "We serve breakfast snacks, an awesome lunch, and water throughout the day for registered athletes and volunteers."

It's sponsored by Ezekiel USA, along with supporting sponsors Jason Mraz Foundation, StorQuest and Wellspect.

Life Rolls On is a nonprofit organization founded by Jesse Billauer, who was weeks from going professional when he hit a shallow sand bar surfing in Malibu. He broke his sixth vertebrae and became a quadriplegic.

But that didn't stop him.

Billauer created Life Rolls On in 2001 to help people living with paralysis experience their potential and take on incredible experiences, such as surfing and skating.

The organization now hosts surfing and skating events for people across the U.S. and inspires people to be brave and push forward.
