Worker Falls Into 14-Feet Deep Hole In Mar Vista, Authorities Say

Firefighters rescued a worker who fell into a 14-feet deep hole at a construction site in Mar Vista Wednesday, officials said.

MAR VISTA, CA — A construction worker Wednesday fell into a 14-feet deep, 4 feet by 4 feet concrete-lined hole at a construction site in Mar Vista and was rescued by firefighters, authorities said.

He is conscious and alert and appears to have no imminently life-threatening injuries, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The emergency rescue happened about 10:55 a.m. at 3799 S. Boise Ave., near Venice Boulevard, Humphrey said.

Firefighters used a harness and ladder to help rescue the worker, Humphrey said. The victim is now undergoing further medical evaluation by LAFD Paramedics.
