2 Sought In Safeway Alcohol Robbery At Gunpoint: Walnut Creek PD
A man and a woman in a white BMW are sought in the robbery.
WALNUT CREEK, CA — The Walnut Creek Police Department is investigating a robbery reported Sunday night at a Safeway grocery store.
Walnut Creek police dispatchers received a call at 8:51 p.m. Sunday about a robbery that had taken place about 10 minutes earlier in the parking lot of Safeway at 1971 Tice Valley Blvd.
Officers responded and contacted the vicitm, an employee of Safeway, who said a female had stolen alcohol from the store and then got into a white BMW sedan that was waiting in the parking lot.

The employee told police that as he approached the BMW, a male in the car pointed a handgun at him. The perpetrators then drove off, heading south on Tice Valley Boulevard.
"Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any injuries," Walnut Creek police Lt. Bruce Jower said.

The lieutenant said detectives continued to pursue investigative leads related to the incident.
