Arrest Made In Walnut Creek Bank Robbery

Officers responded to a holdup alarm and learned the robber was still inside.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A man was arrested in a bank robbery Thursday in Walnut Creek when authorities were alerted by a holdup alarm, police said.

At 1:45 p.m., officers responded to the alarm at U.S. Bank, 1655 N. Main St., and learned the robber was still inside, Walnut Creek police Lt. Holley Connors said.

Officers evacuated adjacent businesses and made contact with employees inside the bank.

The suspect, identified by police as 45-year-old Douglas Crosby, was detained without incident.

"There were no injuries to employees or customers, no weapons involved, and no loss to the bank," Connors said.

Crosby was ultimately arrested on suspicion of robbery and was also charged with violating his parole, police said. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility without bail due to the parole hold.
