Arrest Made In Walnut Creek Burglary Series

Walnut Creek police posted a video and image of the suspect and the public helped identify him as a Concord man.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A Concord man is facing charges in connection with a string of commercial burglaries in Walnut Creek.

Four break-ins were reported between September 2022 and March 2023 at businesses in the 24oo block of Buena Vista Avenue. Following the fourth break-in, the Walnut Creek Police Department posted a video and image of the suspect on social media in the hope someone in the public may recognize him.

The department received several leads from the public, which enabled detectives to identify the suspect as Joseph Alan Ramos, 36, of Concord.

A warrant was issued for his arrest and on June 5, Ramos was taken into custody in Sacramento County on the warrant, additional warrants, and new charges by the arresting agency.

Walnut Creek presented the case to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office on June 8 and Ramos was charged with four counts of second-degree commercial burglary.

Ramos remained in custody Monday in Sacramento County and will later be transferred to Contra Costa County, police said.
