Suspect At Large In Bay Area Freeway Shooting

The shooter fired bullets at a car headed home from a concert, police said.

ALAMO, CA — A random freeway shooting left one person injured early Thursday morning in the East Bay, according to California Highway Patrol.

The shooting occurred around 12:25 a.m. northbound on Interstate 680 near the City of Alamo, police said.

Officers said the suspect fired shots at a Tesla filled with people on their way home from a concert at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. The driver of the Tesla was grazed by a bullet in the back of her head, according to CHP.

After the shooting, the Tesla exited at Stone Valley Road and drove to a neighborhood to call 911, police said.

CHP said they believed the shooting was random.

Levi's Stadium hosted The Weeknd's "After Hours Till Dawn" tour with Playboi Carti and Mike Dean Wednesday night.

Police said they don't have a description of the suspect's car.
