Search For Child Pornography Ends In Bomb Squad, Hazmat Alert, Arrest In Antioch
A search for child pornography in an Antioch home leads to ConFire hazmat and Walnut Creek bomb squad alert.
ANTIOCH, CA — The search for suspected child pornography today in Antioch this morning led to a bomb squad, hazmat alert, and one arrest.
The incident started early today as part of an ongoing investigation involving Walnut Creek Police Department and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, according to Lt. Drew Olson.
The unit served a search warrant for suspected child pornography at a residence in the 1600 block of Lipton Street near Trembath Lane in Antioch, Olson said in a news release.

During the search, Walnut Creek Police detectives discovered suspected illegal fireworks, he said.
Walnut Creek Police Department's bomb squad was called in at 9:02 a.m. to handle the material. Bomb technicians identified materials they decided needed required further evaluation, prompting a response from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District’s hazmat team.

Walnut Creek police arrested one person on suspicion of possession of child pornography.
The investigation is ongoing. Currently, no further details are being released, Olson said.
