Bomb Squads Help Dispose Of Antique Military Ordnance
Walnut Creek PD's bomb squad responded along with a team from the U.S. Air Force.
PLEASANT HILL, CA —A box of antique unexploded military ordnance found at a Pleasant Hill residence Wednesday afternoon prompted a response from two bomb squads.
Officers with the Pleasant Hill Police Department responded to the 1700 block of Shirley Drive around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to investigate the matter.
Police then requested assistance from the Walnut Creek Police Department's bomb squad and a U.S. Air Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team.

Nearly four hours later— around 6 p.m.— the ordnance was safely removed, the Pleasant Hill Police Department said Wednesday evening.
Police said the incident was being investigated but was not criminal in nature.
