The thieves crashed a Land Rover through the store window to gain access to the Broadway Plaza storefront, police said.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Officers with the Walnut Creek Police Department interrupted a burglary in progress Tuesday morning at a store at Broadway Plaza and are investigating how damage to the store occurred.
Walnut Creek police dispatchers received multiple 911 calls shortly before 4:30 a.m. Tuesday about the incident at Louis Vuitton, 1211 Broadway Plaza. Within one minute, a Walnut Creek officer was at the scene and saw some 15 suspects associated with four vehicles trying to burglarize the store, according to Walnut Creek police Capt. Andy Brown.

A 2017 black Land Rover was left in front of the store and was determined stolen out of Sacramento.
"It appeared the Land Rover was used to gain access to the store by crashing into the window," Brown said. "The Land Rover was impounded for evidence."
The value of the loss and damage to the store was unknown Tuesday afternoon.
"The Police Department’s Investigations Bureau is in the process of gathering surveillance footage and is actively following up on investigative leads," Brown said. "No additional information is available at this time."
