Shelter In Place For Plaza Near 2-Alarm Blaze In Walnut Creek Commerical Building
Shelter-in-place ordered for Mt. Diablo Plaza where a hazmat unit, seven fire engines were on scene of a 2-alarm fire in Walnut Creek.
WALNUT CREEK, CA — A shelter in place order was issued for the Mount Diablo Plaza at 7:15 p.m. in Walnut Creek because of a fire that broke out earlier involving an electric Jeep.
Crews opened roadways about two hours after the 2-alarm blaze erupted in the underground parking garage of a Walnut Creek commercial building at 2121 North California Blvd.
The fire broke at about 5 p.m. in the third floor of the garage.

A hazmat unit, seven fire engines, two trucks, and fire investigators were on the scene, according to Contra Costa Fire Protection District officials.
The building was evacuated.
