Fire Damages Walnut Creek Apartment

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A fire at a Walnut Creek apartment building Wednesday was quickly quelled, Contra Costa County Fire said.

Firefighters responded shortly before 5 p.m. to a three-story apartment building in the 400 block of North Civic Drive.

"Crews were quickly able to confine the fire to 1 unit," Con Fire said.

North Civic Drive and Pine Street were closed during the incident, the Walnut Creek Police Department said.

At 6:18 p.m., Con Fire reported that Civic Drive was reopened as crews finished mopping up the fire.
