Happy Father’s Day From Kristie Karkanen

"You taught me how to play baseball and ski, and inspired me to create."

In celebration of Father's Day on Sunday June 17, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their father and let us deliver it. This is Kristie Karkanen's letter to her dad:

Dear Dad,

You were a lifelong learner who left us too soon. An engineer, entrepreneur, MIT alumnus and an avid car mechanic, you were fascinated by how things worked and loved to sit in the local library and read. You taught me how to play baseball and ski, and inspired me to create. Mom and the rest of the family misses you.

This will be our tenth Father's Day without you. May you rest in peace forever.
