Hawk Makes Surprise Landing In Contra Costa Woman's Home, Rescued
A Rossmoor woman received an unexpected visitor on Friday from a red-tailed hawk that flew into her home through an open window.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A Rossmoor woman received an unexpected visitor on Friday from a red-tailed hawk that flew into her home through an open window.
After the surprised woman called 911, the Contra Costa Fire Department was dispatched to her home.
Engine Crew 7 helped the hawk find its way back outside.

Once in the open again, and uninjured, the sharp-eyed bird of prey was able to fly away on its own.
"Thank you very much for rescuing this bird," a Claremont Wildlife Habitat responder wrote on Instagram.

The responder suggested contacting a specialist like Bay Raptor Rescue for any future unexpected wildlife landings.
The organization will rescue and perform a field exam, and either release the bird, or take it to the Lindsay Wildlife Hospital in Walnut Creek for a full exam and treatment, she wrote.
