Prepare to lace up for the 2025 ice skating season.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Prepare to lace up for the 2025 ice skating season. Ice skating rinks are getting ready to open, one marking the 20th season in downtown Walnut Creek.

That is Walnut Creek’s "cherished" ice rink in Civic Park. Opening day for the festive outdoor rink is Nov. 21.

"Glide beneath the lights, cozy up by the firepits, and experience the joy of the Bay Area’s only outdoor ice rink and ice slide," according to the rink. "Take a thrilling ride down Frosty’s Summit Ice Slide or enjoy a classic spin around the rink surrounded by festive music and cheerful holiday spirit" The trilling ride refers to a 90-foot “Frosty’s Summit” ice slide. Sessions last 90 minutes.
