List: Bober Tea & Coffee Among 9 Best In Bay Area

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Bober Tea & Coffee, which has a location in Walnut Creek, was named to a list of the "Nine Best New Bay Area Coffee and Tea Houses."

The establishment at 1153 Locust Street in Downtown Walnut Creek is "not your average boba chain," according to the list recently published by The Mercury News.

"Originating in Singapore, the bubble tea brand incorporates the flavors of Taiwan, China and Japan into a focused selection (read: not every fruit tea known to man) of iced artisanal drinks made with loose-leaf teas, real fruit and housemade chizu. Bober’s cream cheese topper is sweeter than the more prevalent salted versions," the newspaper wrote.

"What we enjoyed most on our visit to the Walnut Creek shop, which opened in 2022 and jump-started Bober’s rapid Bay Area expansion, wasn’t the happiness-inducing pink-rose interiors or a sized called 'Champagne bottle.' It was the customer service."

The hostess "walked us through the approachable menu" and also "told us what the staff is obsessing over," the newspaper wrote.

The menu consists of fresh fruit green teas, a milk tea series, and espresso-based lattes.

After opening last year in Walnut Creek, the popular boba spot has franchise locations in Martinez, Pleasanton, San Ramon and Sunnyvale, with more locales opening soon in Alameda, Campbell, Palo Alto and San Carlos.
