Man Having Mental Health Crisis Takes Gun To Police Department
The man was taken to receive a mental health evaluation.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A man with a mental health crisis went to the Walnut Creek Police Department earlier this week and brought a gun with him, alarming officers.
At 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, the man contacted a dispatcher using the police callbox outside the main lobby of city hall at Main Street. He reportedly told the dispatcher he was having a mental health crisis and that he had a gun with him.
Officers immediately contacted the man, who surrendered peacefully, police said.

No one was injured. Officers took the firearm and took the man to a mental health evaluation, according to police.
The man was not identified. Walnut Creek police are asking anyone with relevant information to contact them at (925) 943-5844.
