​ New Leadership for Kaiser Permanente Diablo Service Area

Pam Galley named new Senior Vice President and Area Manager

Pam Galley, RN, a nurse and health care executive with nearly 20 years of experience, has been named Senior Vice President and Area Manager of the Kaiser Permanente Diablo Service Area. Galley will have oversight of and is responsible for hospital operations and the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan for the area that includes facilities in Walnut Creek, Antioch and Dublin and serves nearly 500,000 members.

“It’s truly an honor for me to work alongside the talented team of care providers and staff in Kaiser Permanente’s Diablo Service Area as we ensure our members and patients have access to high-quality, affordable health care,” Galley said. “We will continue to put our patients at the forefront of everything we do and build upon our mission to improve the overall health and well-being of the communities we serve.”

Galley has been in the role on an interim basis since May. Prior to that, she served for five years as Vice President of Continuum Care for both the Kaiser Permanente Northern California and Mid-Atlantic regions.

“Pam is a people-centered leader who models the importance of providing compassionate care to those we serve,” said Carrie Owen Plietz, FACHE, president of Kaiser Permanente’s Northern California region. “I know she will provide great leadership to our teams in the Diablo area with her dedication and drive.”

Galley has held positions in nursing and operational leadership within and outside Kaiser Permanente. Throughout her career, she has championed innovation as well as steering short- and long-term strategies to expand health care programs, improve patient outcomes, and optimize operational efficiency and growth.

She completed her Associate Degree in Nursing from Hartnell College and received her Master of Arts & Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University.

Galley succeeds Chris Boyd who retired in May from Kaiser Permanente.
