Out On The Ridge: Walnut Creek Photo Of The Day

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Patch reader Gershom Rosengarten sent in this photo of Ava Lynn Rosengarten taken in August 2022 on the ridge line at Shell Ridge Open Space, near the site of the Audrey Ellis memorial bench.

The ridge has been the running and walking route for Ava's mother and father for many years, Gershom told Patch.

Audrey Ellis was a Walnut Creek native who went on to become a transplant RN. Ellis was 29 years old when she died March 22, 2020, from COVID-19 complications. According to her obituary, "She will be fondly remembered for her infectious belly laugh and huge smile."

What a lovely smile Ava also has!
