• Walnut Creek Youth Charity Exec Took Money For 49ers Seats, 1st Class Flights: DOJ (patch.com) — Residents following local youth programs will note that a Pleasant Hill finance manager has been sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for embezzling over $1.6 million from a Walnut Creek charity serving underserved youth. Prosecutors say she used the funds for luxury travel and premium Warriors and 49ers tickets, and a judge will later decide how much restitution she must repay while she also faces three years of supervised release.
   

• Heather Farm's $7.7 Million Turf Fields Are Finally Done Bay Area Telegraph (bayareatelegraph.com) — Heather Farm’s long-awaited $7.7 million all-weather turf fields in Walnut Creek are now open after a full season of construction closures. Funded by city reserves, Measure O, ARPA, and Walnut Creek Soccer Club contributions, the rebuilt Fields 1 and 2 feature new drainage, organic infill, and fencing, celebrated at a December 1 ribbon-cutting with Mayor Cindy Darling.
