Coroner IDs Person Killed When Tree Fell Onto Car In Walnut Creek
The fatality happened on Stanley Dollar Drive in Rosmoor, a senior living community.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — The Contra Costa County Coroner's Office identified Thomas Huster, 79, as the person killed Tuesday night when a tree fell on a car in Rossmoor, a senior living community in Walnut Creek.
Huster was the passenger in a car that was traveling on Stanley Dollar Drive when a large tree came down onto it, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.
Walnut Creek and the Bay Area were dealt another storm Tuesday on already saturated soil. Fallen trees and widespread power outages were reported throughout the region.

As firefighters responded to the scene just after 7 p.m., the female driver was already out of the car and was not seriously injured, Con Fire Spokesman Steve Hill told Bay City News Service.
Huster died while seated in the car.

Firefighters worked for 90 minutes to extricate his body from the wreckage, Hill said.
Huster was a Walnut Creek resident, according to the coroner's office.
