Pier 1 Opens Its Doors at its New Location

The new Pier 1 had its grand opening today, in its new location at 1902 Mt. Diablo Blvd., one block away and across the street from its former spot. The new store is larger, and there is more variety, said Chrissy Madison, spokesperson for the store.

“As part of our ongoing expansion plans, we routinely review new and existing markets, and identified our new Walnut Creek location as an opportunity to relocate and grow,” Madison said. “We closed our previous store at 2099 Mt. Diablo Blvd., in preparation for this opening. Our new store offers customers an increased product assortment across all categories, ranging from home accessories such as candles, vases and picture frames to full-sized, upholstered furniture, an extensive offering of indoor and outdoor décor, and eclectic wall décor. In addition to a larger floor plan, it also features our new store concept and updated fixtures that enhance our unique shopping experience.”

The first Pier 1 Imports opened in Walnut Creek in 1987.
