Police Make Arrest In String Of Downtown Walnut Creek Burglaries

Police announced the arrest of a man in connection with seven burglaries that took place July 16-July 24.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Walnut Creek police made an arrest Wednesday in connection with a recent string of downtown burglaries.

Between July 16 and July 24, seven businesses were burglarized in the downtown area and one business was burglarized on Oak Grove Road.

The Walnut Creek Police Department Investigations Bureau worked diligently to identify Jarvis Ferguson, 40, of San Francisco as one of the suspects believed to be responsible for the burglaries, Lt. Holley Connors said in a news release.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Walnut Creek police detectives located Ferguson in the area of the Crossroads Shopping Center in Pleasant Hill. Ferguson was arrested on a warrant for the first three burglaries and on charges related to the last four burglaries.

Ferguson was booked into the Martinez jail on suspicion of a total of seven felony counts of second-degree burglary and four felony counts of conspiracy to commit a crime. He was being held in lieu of $220,000 bail.

Police noted the investigation was still active with more suspects yet to be identified.
