Election Results: Incumbents Pull Ahead, Barbanica Has Supervisor Lead
The polls have closed, and Patch has real-time election results in Contra Costa County.

WALNUT CREEK, CA —Votes have been cast in Tuesday's presidential primary election and polls officially closed at 8 p.m. in Walnut Creek and across California.
In Contra Costa County's final election night tally released at 11:33 p.m. Tuesday, Walnut Creeks's incumbent representatives — Tim Grayson, Mark DeSaulnier and Rebecca Bauer Kahan — all had comfortable leads against their competitors.
In the race for the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors, Candace Anderson ran unopposed for District 1 and Diane Burgis ran unopposed for District 3. In the race for District 5, Mike Barbanica was ahead of four other candidates for longtime Supervisor Federal Glover's seat.

March 5 Primary
With presidential frontrunners former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden expected to win their nominations handily, all eyes in California are on the hotly contested primary race for the seat vacated by the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein as well as a slew of local races.
In Walnut Creek and Contra Costa County, voters decided on xx candidate races and xx ballot measure/s.
Ballot Question:
- California Prop 1: Authorizes $6.5 billion in bonds to build mental health and substance abuse treatment facilities and homeless housing. YES: 51.1 percent; NO: 48.9 percent (Statewide results as of 11:56 p.m. Tuesday.)
U.S. House District 10:
- Mark DeSaulnier (D) 65.02 percent
- Nolan Chen (R) 10.69 percent
- Mohamed Elsherbini (NP) .81 percent
- Katherine Piccinini (R) 19.78 percent
