WALNUT CREEK, CA — The polls closed at 8 p.m. here in Walnut Creek, with voters choosing city council members, school board members and a county supervisor, and voting on two local measures. In addition, there were California and federal races, along with seven statewide propositions on the ballot.

There were 701,969 registered voters in Contra Costa County as of Oct. 24, with 53.77 percent registered as Democrats, 22.21 percent choosing no party preference, and 18.14 percent registered as Republicans.
