Repair Cafe Coming To Walnut Creek

Community members can bring items that need fixing, from clothes to small appliances, and volunteers repair them.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Don't throw out that broken coffee pot or laptop yet. The city of Walnut Creek is hosting an event called a Repair Café, where volunteers repair broken items at no cost.

The Repair Cafe is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at Civic Park Community Center Assembly Hall, 1375 Civic Dr. in downtown Walnut Creek.

Community members can bring items that need fixing, from clothes to small appliances, and volunteers repair them.

Fixing such items reduces waste and saves resources and money, according to repaircafe.org. The website states there are over 2,500 repair cafes worldwide.
