East Bay BART Station Reopened After Suspicious Device Found

The discovery was initially made at around 8:10 a.m. by a Bay Area Rapid Transit employee.

WALNUT CREEK, CA – Walnut Creek Station has been reopened and normal service is being restored after an incident Monday morning that caused the station to temporarily close, according to a Twitter update by the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit.

A suspicious device was found in a parking garage at the station, Mercury News reporter Rick Hurd reported, citing SFBART.

The discovery was made around 8:10 a.m. by a BART employee, agency spokesman Jim Allison told Hurd, according to Mercury News.
