WALNUT CREEK, CA — The Walnut Creek Police Department issued a traffic alert mid-day Thursday for Ygnacio Valley Road/Homestead Avenue.

A low-hanging wire was blocking the roadway in the eastbound direction as of 11:30 a.m., police said.

Police encouraged drivers to take alternate routes if possible, as only one lane was open until further notice.
