Walnut Creek Boy Acts In Movie Alongside William Baldwin, Ashanti
Keenan Moran, a fifth-grader who has done theater locally, has a role in the upcoming feature film "No Address."
WALNUT CREEK, CA — Keenan Moran, an 11-year-old from Walnut Creek, landed his first movie role in the upcoming full-length feature film, “No Address,” starring Hollywood names including William Baldwin, Ashanti, Xander Berkeley, Beverly D’Angelo, Ty Pennington, Lucas Jade Zumann, Kristanna Loken, Patricia Velasquez and Isabella Ferreira.
The film, written and directed by Julia Verdin with writing also by James J. Papa, is based on the one-hour documentary, “Americans With No Address,” and pulled characters’ touching storylines from the countless hours spent by the producing team visiting shelters, missions and organizations across the United States.
The hope is that “No Address” will encourage viewers to engage deeper with compassion in their own communities and incite personal participation by audiences when it hits theaters in winter 2023.

It has already had quite an impact on Keenan, who has the role of Sam, the on-screen son of William Baldwin in his role as Robert. Kristanna Loken of “Terminator 3,” “The L Word,” and “Killer Jane” has the role of Kim, Keenan's on-screen mom. Together, the family of three struggles with homelessness.

“Getting in the character, you have to imagine you have lost everything,” Keenan said in an interview with Patch. “This has taught me a lot of things about homelessness and what it is like and gives me more sympathy for people who are homeless.”

At home in real life, Keenan is the oldest of three children to parents Brendan and Renee Moran. He is a fifth-grader at St. Perpetua School in Lafayette, and has been acting since he was 5 years old with a role in the Performing Academy’s production of “Peter Pan.”

These last 12 months, Keenan has kept busy balancing homework and performances in “Fun Home” (San Francisco 42nd Street Moon), ”Newsies” (Livermore’s Tri-Valley Repertory Theatre), and “Matilda” (Berkeley Playhouse). He is currently also in rehearsals for “Merrily We Roll Along” (42nd Street Moon).
“I love performing on stage, but I’m really excited to be in a movie,” Keenan said. “It’s so cool. I definitely want to keep doing all of this.”
JE Talent, one of San Francisco’s premier talent agencies, signed Keenan.
For the past few weeks, Keenan and his dad have been making daily drives to and from Sacramento where filming of “No Address” has been underway and was scheduled to wrap up Friday. It is the first time on a real movie set for Keenan and for his parents.

That has meant getting home “way past” Keenan’s bedtime, said dad Brendan, who enjoyed watching his son learn how to do stunts and everything else that comes with being behind the big screen.
“It has been a bigger experience than we thought going in we are thrilled for him,” Brendan said. “He has had the time of his life.”
